In August 2011, NPLS welcomed 7 young Israeli Muslim teenagers and their High School teacher from the village of Nahaf in the Galil region of Israel. They were hosted and chaperoned to enjoy London by members of the Community. They spent time at NPLS sharing Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Morning services and exploring our Community, heritage and approach to Judaism with Rabbi Aaron and Judi Herman. The central focus of the visit was the trip to Machaneh Kadimah, the Summer Camp of our youth movement, LJY-NETZER. There they engaged with their Liberal Jewish peers - from the UK, Italy, Mexico, France, Ireland and our Community in Zichron Ya'akov, Israel - in sessions that built friendships whilst also exploring core issues facing Israelis of all backgrounds. In the summer of 2012, they will all meet again in Nahaf as part of LJY-NETZER's Israel Tour.
