NPLS held Mitzvah Day events over the weekend of 14/15 November 2008 as part of a country-wide event focussing on tzedek (righteousness), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and gemilut chasadim (acts of loving kindness). Its aim was to involve large numbers of people in enjoyable and action-based activities for the benefit of others. An unusual feature of Mitzvah Day is that projects could not request money.
